Shooting & stick handling
Top Shelf Sports is both excited and proud to be bringing a first-class dryland hockey experience to you! Top Shelf offering a full service off-ice training facility. Players of all ages will have the ability to shoot, stick handle, and work on agility (core strength) and strength & weight training (for players 12+ years of age & older).
Shooting
Players will work on age appropriate shots. Emphasis will be placed on proper technique, quick release and developing accuracy and velocity.
Stickhandling
Players will work to develop soft and quick hands with proper athletic stance while keeping their head and eyes up, knees bent and butt down.
Athletic Performance
Athleticism allows for players to be more explosive and change direction more quickly. Box jumps, agility ladders and quick feet activities will be worked into each session in an age appropriate, fun and challenging way.
Program Information
Instruction & Curriculum will be led by Brian Wierson, the Owner of Top Shelf Hockey Midwest. Brian has run and operated off-ice skills clinics and camps in Roseau, MN (2003 – 2006), with Cyclone Hockey, USA Hockey and with Top Shelf in Ames, IA since 2015. Whether activities include teams, small groups or 1 on 1, Top Shelf Instructors will have hourly rental access to the shooting and stick handling area and full-time access to the weight & strength room.
