High Performance Goalie Camp
Friday, June 11 – Sunday June 13, 2021
A High Performance opportunity for GOALTENDERS age 2nd year Squirt – High School. Goalies will report Friday evening and be challenged to take their game to a higher level. Mental preparedness will be emphasized prior to and during each on-ice session. Skating drills along with fundamental and live instruction will take place on the ice through real-time feedback. Age appropriate shooters for the 3-day camp will be selected from the “Skating & Shooting” camp which will coincide on the same weekend. Sessions will begin Friday night, followed by 2 on-ice sessions Saturday, an optional, pre-Registered Classroom session and one on-ice session on Sunday.
Included: 6 hours (4 sessions) of instructional ice-time, over 3 days, an optional, Pre-Registered Q&A with Goalie Coaches, and a 2021 Top Shelf Goaltending jersey.
GOALTENDER Instructors for the 3-day, HIGH PERFORMANCE camp include, but are not limited to:
- Luke Venker – From St. Louis, MO, Luke is the Owner & Head Instructor of 3E Goaltending. His Coaching experience of 15 years has seen him work with Tyler Parks of the Tucson RoadRunners (AHL) & Olympic Gold Medalist, Nicole Hensley, as well as other levels of Pro, Olympic, NCAA down to youth. He has studied alongside many Pro, European and College Coaches at the Global Goaltending Retreat with The Goalie Guild.
- Bill Manuel – Currently serves as the Minnesota Hockey Associate Goalie Development Coordinator, Goaltender Coach for the Buffalo Bison MN boys high school team as well as a Coach with Carroll Goalie Schools. Bill played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and has worked with legendary Russian goaltender, Vladislav Tretiak and 2-time Stanley Cup Winner, Stephane Waite.
- Brad Parker – Currently a Vice President with the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association overseeing and working with USA Hockey as the Goaltending Development Coordinator (GDC). Originally from Des Moines, Brad played hockey for Des Moines & Waterloo of the USHL. He has 45 years of playing and coaching experience with Players & Goalies from Central Iowa. His role with USA Hockey and MHSHL keep him very involved with Coaches and Players, including being General Manager of Team Midwest.
- Derek Hender – Originally from Gander, Newfoundland, CANADA, Derek is the current Goaltender Coach for the Des Moines Oak Leafs. Since 2015 Coach Hender has been a lead instructor and business consultant for Canadian Professional Goalie School (CPGS), which is owned and operated by Toronto Maple Leafs goalie coach, Steve Briere. While working with CPGS, he served as Curriculum Consultant for UnLock Goaltender Training Program, which was founded by Steve Briere and Washington Capitals goalie coach, Mitch Korn. Coach Hender was also co-host of the ESPN Radio Show, “The Other State of Hockey”.
